San Bartolo

The site brings together around 280 routes, split into two ensembles: the upper zone and the Tajo del Búho. Heights range from around twenty metres on average up to 90 metres for the longest lines. The spread leans towards moderate and sustained sport climbing: some thirty routes up to grade V, around forty between V+ and 6c+, twenty-five routes between 7a and 7c+, and five routes at 8a+. The Mariano sector is one of the natural entry points after the approach from the village.

The spot demands adaptation: technical climbing, demanding rock, and a wind you have to know how to read: in strong levante, some faces become uncomfortable, even dangerous. The useful season runs from autumn to spring: the cliffs are largely restricted during the raptor nesting period, from 1 March to 31 August, a restriction common to several areas of the park. Bring water and a helmet; there is a water point near the electrical substation mentioned by the local topos.
