Cookie Policy
Which cookies we use, what they are for, and how you can control them.
Last updated: 17 May 2026
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognise you, remember your preferences or provide certain features. On tarifa.life we also use the browser's "localStorage" (similar but more persistent) to store certain interface preferences.
2. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These cookies are essential for the service to work. Without them, you would not be able to log in, browse or use the core features.
sb-*-auth-token: Supabase session cookies (authentication). Duration: 1 year ("remember me" by default).tarifa-viewed-spot-posts(localStorage): remembers the stories you have already viewed so they are not shown again. Duration: 30 days.tarifa-chat-state/tarifa-chat-session(localStorage): keeps your conversation with the support chatbot.
3. Functional cookies (no consent required)
These cookies improve the experience without tracking your behaviour for advertising purposes.
- Notification, language and date-format preferences.
- Open/closed state of the notifications panel and the bell.
4. Payment cookies (Stripe as processor)
During a payment, Stripe may place cookies on its own interface (generally when redirecting to stripe.com) for security, fraud detection and checkout optimisation. These cookies are managed directly by Stripe in accordance with its cookie policy.
5. Third-party cookies (Google OAuth)
If you choose to log in via Google, Google places its own authentication cookies on your device. See Google's cookie policy.
6. Analytics and advertising cookies
tarifa.life does not use third-party analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.) or advertising cookies. Should we add any in the future, we will ask for your explicit consent via a banner compliant with the ePrivacy Directive.
7. How to control cookies
At any time you can:
- Clear all cookies / localStorage via your browser settings ("Privacy" or "Site data" section). Effect: you will be logged out and your preferences will be reset.
- Block third-party cookies via your browser configuration.
- Browse in private / incognito mode: no cookie is kept between sessions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the service: it is technically impossible to provide it without them.
8. Changes
This policy may change if we add new tools. The applicable version is always the one published on the Site.
